Chancellor Angela Merkel and H.E. Yousef Omair Bin Yousef Inaugurate the Khalifa A City NGV Station

During her official visit to boost trade relations with the United Arab Emirates, the German Chancellor Angela Merkel inaugurated a Natural Gas For Vehicles (NGV) filling station in Khalifa A City in Abu Dhabi on 25th May 2010.

H.E. Yousef Omair Bin Yousef, Secretary General of the Supreme Petroleum Council, ADNOC CEO accompanied Chancellor Merkel during the inauguration. Present were also H.E. Abdulla Nasser Al Suwaid, ADNOC Deputy CEO, H.E. Mohammed A. Al Mahmood, UEA Ambassador to Germany, Mr. Abdulla S. Al Dhaheri, ADNOC Distribution General Manager, Mr. Abdul Aziz Al Ameri, GASCO’s Senior Vice President- Major Projects, members of the visiting German Delegation and senior management members in the ADNOC Group of Companies.

Using natural gas as a clean and economical fuel alternative is an initiative taken by ADNOC in accordance with our wise leadership’s directives to maximize the use of natural resources and protect the environment. The project is being executed by GASCO on behalf of ADNOC with the German Company BAUER KOMPRESSOREN, who will deliver 12 additional stations that will be installed in different locations and in OPCOs plants during the second phase of the project.
