Performance


Since 2001, GASCO has openly reported on its HSE performance, in the form of an Annual HSE Report.

HSE issues will be managed with the same diligence accorded to any other of the Company’s critical business activities and GASCO will play a leading role in promoting best practice throughout the industry.

The focus on HSE issues underlines GASCO’s continuing determination to help meet global energy demands with minimum impact on the environment and without compromising the health or safety of any one of its employees.

Awards


Since 1997, ADNOC has organized an annual HSE Awards Program to raise awareness in the area of HSE through recognizing outstanding achievements in these areas. GASCO has supported this program each year submitting the maximum number of entries and has been recognized with a number of Awards.

Awards of 2011

Occupational Health


Category: “Innovative Ergonomics Scheme for Computer Users”

An innovative and sustainable risk reduction scheme for 900 employees. Third Generation E-Solution installed an innovative e-toolkit on all computers. This includes; Fatigue Alert System, Ergonomics Training, Postural Assessment to measure and minimize risk of RSI, Exercises, real-time audio/visual coaching on stretching techniques, Ergo Dashboard and shows user’s performance for managing risk of Repetitive Risk Injury (RSI). Target Screening by: Foot Scan, Spine Check, Postural Assessment and Eyesight Testing.

Safety

Category: “H2S Zone Classification, the provision of Permanent Refuge Operator Shelters and a New Specification for Temporary Safe Refuge

To protect personnel from exposure to H2S, high H2S areas were classified by performing dispersion modeling and physically demarcated as red, yellow and green zones by installing dismountable barriers. The personnel entering high H2S zones were trained for H2S competency and 15 minutes duration EEBD has became mandatory to enter into these zones. Since the outdoor assembly points are not ideal in the event of large H2S release, it has been decided to install PROS and to identify & convert some existing buildings as TSR.


Awards of 2008

Sustainability





GASCO has been successful in the ADNOC HSE Awards for 2009, winning the category “Sustainable Development” Award, and the “Recognition of Group Company and Contractor Partnerships” Award.

The Sustainable Development Winner Award was for the submission titled: Introduction of New Technology to Detect Invisible Gas Leaks. The Recognition Award for Company and Contractor Partnerships was for: Bechtel – HSEMS Initiatives – Zero Plus Program. Mr. Cyrilles Huijsmans, GASCO Senior Vice President – Operations, and the winning Team Members received the Awards during a ceremony held on 31st May 2009.

Environment





In 2007, GASCO won an Award in the ENVIRONMENT Category for the project "The Recovery of LPG from Molecular Sieve Treater Beds (Sponge Loss).

Awards of 2006

Innovation





In 2006, out of the five award-categories, GASCO won in two (2) categories - HSE Performance and HSE Innovation and were runner-up in one (1) category - HSE Performance. In addition, a "Special Recognition Award" was given to GASCO, for an all round good performance in Health, Safety and Environment. Also, ADCO's runner-up award in the HSE Innovation category was for their entry that was supported by GASCO.

HSE Performance



In 2005 GASCO submitteda 57 entries out of a total of 264 entries from the ADNOC Group of Companies and achieved first place of the award category "HSE Performance". The entry was:

Health & Safety



In 2003 GASCO submitted 22 entries out of a total of 131 entries from the ADNOC Group of Companies and achieved first place in the Health category and runner-up in the Safety category. The entries were:

SAFETY: Habshan/Bab Integrity and Reliability Assessment Study

Health & HSE Performance





In 2002 GASCO submitted nine entries out of a total of 79 entries from the ADNOC Group of Companies and achieved first place in the Health and HSE Performance categories. The entries were :
