Two EPC Contracts for Pipeline Projects awarded in the third week of December 2009:

    1. Thammama “C” to Asab Lean Gas Pipeline (ALP): The contract valued at US$ 84million was awarded to Dodsal of UAE on the effective date on 20th December 2009, with schedule completion of new facilities in 18 months i.e. by June 2011 followed by demolition and removal of the old pipelines in 26 months i.e. by Feb 2012. The objective of this pipeline is to replace the existing pipeline with a new 36” diameter pipeline to supply the required Lean Gas from Thammama C to Asab 1 and 2. The main line will be 89 km long and there is also a 20” diameter, 7.65 km long pipeline from Asab Lean Gas Compressor Station to km 7 and tie-in to existing 20” make-up line to Asab.

The contract was awarded by Elixier’s (A Joint Venture between ADNOC and Linde) EPC Contractor, Linde Engineering, after SPC approval, on 15th December with scheduled completion in 16 months from award i.e. by April 2011. The objective of this pipeline is to transport Nitrogen produced at Elixier ASU Plant in Mirfa to Habshan for injection into the gas reservoir. This pipeline will be 48” in diameter and 43km long.

While the ALP Project is an ASR Project, the Nitrogen Pipeline will be funded by Elixier.
