ASU Ruwais / ELIXIER 1
A Joint Venture between ADNOC and Linde called Elixier has been established to build Nitrogen plants. The first project envisages production of Nitrogen in Ruwais primarily to meet the requirement of Burouge 2 Plant as well as to meet the requirements of other consumers in and around Ruwais area. EPC Contract for installation of Nitrogen production facilities was awarded to Linde Engineering (Germany) and GASCO have been appointed by ADNOC to manage the project on their behalf.
Outside Batter Limit (OSBL) facilities covering Cooling Water supply and Nitrogen distribution lines and supply of some of the utilities (Viz. Power, Fire Water etc.) will be provided by GASCO for which necessary actions are on hand to meet the schedule requirement of last quarter of 2009.
Nitrogen Generation Plant (ELIXIER 2)
The second Nitrogen plant of Elixier is being implemented in Mirfa. GASCO is managing the implementation of this Project as well. Nitrogen produced at this plant will be utilized for injection into the gas reservoir at Habshan. The plant will have two trains with capacity to produce 300 MMSCFD of Nitrogen. Produced Nitrogen will be transported to Habshan through a separate pipeline.
EPC Contract for the nitrogen Plant was awarded to Linde Engineering (Germany) in April 2008 with scheduled completion of two trains by January 2011 and May 2011 respectively.
Nitrogen Injection Facilities
Pre-FEED studies for this project were completed by Fluor (UK). Award of FEED is under finalization with a view to commence Nitrogen injection matching with the completion schedule of the Nitrogen Plant at Mirfa, by early 2011.
