GASCO has taken a strategic approach to create an environment where the development of UAE Nationals is a top business with the ultimate goal of ensuring it has the right people, with the right skills, at the right time to accomplish all business objectives. One of the Company’s key objective is Training, Development and integration of UAE National staff at all levels in the organization.

GASCO has taken several steps to accomplish this objective

Training and Development Policies and Procedures were established and issued in a Training and Development Manual. This Manual is a basic tool for providing training and development Guideline.

Competency-based “Personal development Plans (PDP)* have been created to ensure all Business, HSE Personal and Technical Competencies are identified for the target position of each UAE National.

To emphasize the important role of each employee in the Training and development of UAE Nationals, performance criteria for this role has been included in GASCO’s Performance Appraisal System for all employees.

CAMS
The Competency Assurance Management System (CAMS) is an element of the Integrated Training and Development Policy of GASCO, and an adaptation of the ADNOC policy for competency management.
CAMS programme takes a UAE Nationals through three phases of structured and intense competency development training involving Orientation, On the Job training, Competency Assessment, Verification etc. The programme trains and develops the individual to take up positions with independent responsibility and charts out further career progression.

Emiratisation status as of March, 2006
GASCO has a UAE Nationals strength of 1010 employees as of now. This represents Emiratisation level of 53.1 %. Our target is to have 58.5% Emiratisation by the end of the year. This target is part of the bigger target of achieving 75% Emiratisation by the year 2008.
GASCO considers its Emiratisation target as strategically important and are aggressively pursing a number of approaches under a broad Emiratisation strategy. The Gasco Technical Training centre ( GTTC), HCT graduates sponsorship, Competency Assurance Management System ( CAMS), Engineering Students Scholarship and sponsorship programmes are all elements of this strategic approach.
